Case
VISTA
Volvo International Service Training Award, the world’s largest service market competition with more than 16,000 participants within Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses global dealer networks.
Our role was helping Volvo find competitors for the in-person rounds of the VISTA tournament. Our assignment was to make the remote qualifying rounds more than just knowledge quizzes and bring the teams together in their dealerships.
Client's challenge:
Bring an engineering-based competence development competition to 16,000 technicians. Get people engaged and motivate people to take part.
The technical challenge: make it open for two weeks to competitors all over the world, integrate it with the other rounds, and support a high volume of traffic.
The scriptwriting challenge: blend energy, drama, and the company spirit with learning and a fair competition.
Our solution:
We split the competition into two parts: the first for individual competitors, the second for the whole team. Using our advanced scoring system, we made the team’s final score depend on everyone’s individual scores, to keep everyone motivated from the beginning.
And we made it an exciting gameshow with a charismatic host! We took advanced engineering questions that stretch the learner and balanced them with fast, fun rounds and an interactive roleplay challenge.
Last but not least, we used the power of Funkis Cloud to integrate our rounds with the rest of the tournament and support 4,000 sessions. And we adapted it for all situations, hardware and internet connections.

Unleash, leadership program
On June 13, we had a breakfast event at Funkis, showcasing a leadership program developed for Essity. A big thanks to our guest speakers Nicole and Mårten.
Thoughts on Authoring Tools
What? Funkis has its own tool for creating digital learnings? I didn’t know that — how is that even possible? Can they really do something like that?
